Justice for Our Neighbors is a ministry of the United Methodist Church that welcomes immigrants by providing expert immigration legal services to low-income immigrants, refugees and asylum seekers. JFON is also engaged in advocacy for immigrant justice and offers education to faith and other community groups. JFON-SEMI was formed in 2009 and hosts monthly legal clinics in Dearborn, Detroit, and Ypsilanti. Melanie has been practicing immigration law in the Detroit area for more than twenty years.

Newly elected Dearborn City Clerk George Darany, Dearborn Council members Erin Byrnes, Leslie Herrick, Dearborn Heights Council members Bill Bazzi, Denise Malinowski Maxwell, and Tom Wencel as well as returning city officials will be on hand to meet residents. This is a great opportunity for community members to introduce themselves to officials serving for the first time as well as to our more “seasoned” officials.
