Candidates Forum Dearborn Heights City Council Primary Election

All candidates running for three open seats on the Dearborn Heights City Council have been invited to participate in this live forum. A primary election on August 6 will determine which candidates will be listed on the November ballot.
The forum will be taped for future viewing on the League of Women Voters Dearborn-Dearborn Heights website.

The League of Women Voters – Dearborn/Dearborn Heights held its annual meeting on June 21st, 2018 at Park Place in Dearborn, MI. The keynote speaker for the event was Darrell Donakowski, Director of Studies of the American National Election Studies (ANES). League committee chairs, elected officials, and community activists also spoke at the event. The keynote speaker, Darrell Donakowski passed away on Saturday, April 27th, 2019. Darrell loved his Dearborn community very much and was very involved in local and national politics. The League sends its condolences to Darrell’s family and may he rests in peace.

Lou Glazer of Michigan Future presents and facilitates a discussion on how Michigan can grow a broad middle class again. He will share that the basic conclusion after 25 years of research is that Michigan will not have a middle class again until we transition to the knowledge economy that is the path to prosperity in the 21st Century.
